Off shore email hoax
A couple of weeks ago an online friend of Maryannaville received a threatening email stating that she would be killed by a hitman if she didn’t come up with $15,000.00. She contacted the FBI and her local police department right away. She learned this week on her area local TV that according to the Secret Service, it is a terrible offshore HOAX going around the internet trying to scare people and get money from them. She reported today that the email has been traced back to the perpetrators.
If you should receive a threat like my gal pal received, do as she did and report it to the authorities right away.
