Help save our California coastal areas.

by on Nov.14, 2010

Only a month after winning a vote in Congress to protect our coasts from drilling, some members of Congress, including California’s own Rep. Richard Pombo (Tracy), have proposed legislation that will open up our coasts to oil and gas drilling.

To help protect our coasts please ask your assembly member to stand up to the oil and gas industry and oppose offshore drilling by passing a resolution in the state Legislature (AJR 55, Asm. Pedro Nava).

Please take a moment to write a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger, Californians.
I have included the letter that I sent via this addy: Environment California.org

=================

The Honorable Arnold Schwarzenegger

State Capitol

Our children are our future and so it is with keeping our Pacific Ocean in its natural state as much as possible. This is an environmental issue that we have control over along with your help. Off shore oil rigs will only be romancing disasters and those disasters will effect the life forms who have no other place to call home. Oceaneanic life as we know it will ultimately be effected as well as destroyed if offshore oil drilling has but one disasterous industrial incident.. as humans we must factor possible accidents because it is the human condition to err. No one plans an accident, as responsible adults, we prepare for them.

As your constituent, I am asking you to discourage offshore drilling thus keeping our Pacific Ocean in its natural state as much as possible and ensuring sea creatures a safe place of abode in their natural habitat.
With all due respect, life is not a dress rehearsal, sir; moreover, we don’t get to “play it again, Sam.”

Respectfully,

(Signature removed)
